This week we looked at "The Smartest Giant" book which Julia wrote and Axel illustrated. We had great fun. The story was split into 5 parts and each of the schools we are working with took on a part of the story to act out, using any type of puppets they wanted to. We did this using GLOW meet, a video conferencing tool. We had the part where the dog crossed the bog and because the giant gave the dog his belt to walk across, his trousers fell down! It made us laugh!
We drew pictures to show what happened in the story and labelled all the animals the giant met. We also did some writing about using video conferencing and put our work on our GLOW group to share with the other boys and girls. We are working on this project with the following schools: Athelstaneford Primary, Pencaitland Primary, Longniddry Primary (all East Lothian) and Lairdsland Primary (East Dunbartonshire). When we acted out the story, we sent the story of "The Smartest Giant" round Scotland without stopping for a break. Our teachers thought we were fab! We thought we were fab too! Here is a photo of us watching one of the other schools perform their part - our part was near the end so we had time to relax at the beginning.
