P1 decided they wanted to sponsor a sea creature as part of their "Under the Sea" topic. They organised their very own "Cake and Toy Sale", advertised it round the school, collected and priced the toys and cakes, sold everything out completely then sorted the coins at the end. Even the staff were delighted with what we sold them. The staff helped them count it and they made over £74.00 in 30 minutes. As we made so much P1 decided they wanted to send some of the money to feed children in a 3rd world country. It costs just £6.15 to feed a child in Malawi for a year through the Mary's Meals charity so we will be sending some of our profits there too. If there is enough left over we might buy a bubble machine.
